IN PRAISE OF THE QUIET DOG: People can so often see Border collies as more excitable or ‘manic’ as a breed, when in fact the working collie, at heart, should be a calm, thinking, intelligent dog, hyper-focused on the job at hand, and able to exert optimum control over livestock with little more than the force of their presence and mesmerising ‘eye’.
