“Why I’m racist” of course I’m not ! But my pattern recognition has become increasingly sensitive. I never knew much about black culture. My mother made sure of that. I grew up in white neighborhoods. Wealthy, then lower class from middle and high school. Most of the kids were mountain trailer kids but I had a great friend group, I was a varsity athlete and excelled in my studies even though I struggled with chronic illness throughout school.
