Which Free CAD would you recommend for 3D printing?
2013年4月2日 · True CAD software either use CSG (outdated) or boundary representation (B-Rep). All modern CAD software use B-Rep, and so does FreeCAD. OpenSCAD is popular in the 3D printing community, but it's a tool for programming-minded people - which I'm not. It can only export to .CSG (an open but non-standard file format) and .STL.

2014年8月22日 · Drawing directly in a CAD is easier and more convenient. Commercial product already embed such packages such as AutoCAD Map, BricsCAD or Microstation through plugins. There is an almost similar software, JOSM, to draw datas for the OSM project. JOSM is often used to create a drawing to be imported later in QGIS.

2024年6月7日 · I've just downloaded FreeCAD 0.21.2... I've retired and my Autocad program is no longer available to me. I've lots of personal DWG files (2D and 3D) that I would like to access and modify. For the life of me I can't understand how to Import a DWG file into FC using LibreDWG. I have downloaded LiebreDWG, but from there I'm lost.

2014年9月16日 · 5 years, yes a massive change in FreeCAD over that time. This is one of the reasons why you mistakenly thought you needed a Fuse or Compound whereas in your screen shot you can see that you have used PartDesign WB not Part WB , so you have a "Body" which you can reference, which ineffect does what a compound or Fuse would do for multiple objects.

2020年2月6日 · Used AutoCad and Draftsight for years, used Inventor for a short while just before retiring. Since retiring I no longer have access to AutoCad, and Draftsight is no longer free. FreeCAD is being tested as a replacement for them and the recent acquisition of a cnc router brought the need to be able to modify .jpg and .svg files.

2016年8月7日 · Also sometimes you can get problems with printer margins, cutting off the edges of forcing the image to scale to fit within the printer margin rather than the page size. But these things are printer and printer software issues independent from FreeCAD or any other application.
