Cost of Operation for one-man forestry mulching operation
2018年8月26日 · I have to rerun the bumbers but if I can get a mulcher for 20k vice 30k, that trims expense quite a bit. Looking to do that, buy a new trailer, and rent the carrier. Looks like T320s, the model that the T770 replaced, are renting for 245/day by me which isnt too bad considering there's no maintenance and the entire cost is a tax-deductible expense.

Only true forestry designed machines will excel in such an environment. What a good excavator mulcher setup will allow is tackling most anything you need to take out.

This unit has two motors, retractable front guard, and what appears to be a side to side tilt option. The push guard has cam track on it but the power head has forest track on the belt guards.

2023年3月27日 · here’s specific one… iowa farmer. Lots of forest. I do a ton with forestry (mulching, sheers, spade, tree puller). I also do a lot with minor dirt work, augers, fencing, etc. I’d call my skid steer needs: >50% forestry. Do too many other things to need a dedicated machine. Will run Vail mulcher which is amazing.

You can always rent a mower for a day and see if it does what you want. Most rental yards or equipment dealers have one or two in their rental fleet.

The newer Rayco mulchers are pretty reliable, but stay away from any of the older models, like 2012 or older. The newer Fecon mulchers are also pretty good. Again, those built before about 2010 or 2012 are very prone to breakdowns.

2024年4月15日 · Get a big mulcher. No mess, no fuss, no erosion. Take what you want to keep and let the mulcher do the rest. The grass will set in just fine and the stumps will slowly decompose without leaving soft spots or big holes. Most of my farming customers can set out their animals 2-3 months after I finish and the grasses have resprouted.
