2008年6月6日 · Eastwood I found Eastwood when I was in the planning stages of my CJ build. They sell BOTH Rust Encapsulator and POR-15. I used POR-15 on my frame, axles, engine compartment and steering components. I used Black Velvet on the firewall and on the underside of the hood and then used Herculiner in the wheel wells, gas tank skid and tub.

I'm not familiar with mixing rust encapsulating paint or using POR-15 which may be in a different class. Below are some photos (2-4) of the bracket/tray I painted with Eastwood rust encapsulator black and top coated with Rustoleum Pro gloss black.

Well I didn't have time to wait and sure wasn't going to install/remove the bumper a 2nd time for painting the tank skid along with the canister bracket.

2013年9月24日 · But supposed to spray on bare metal/surface rust rather than on top of the Eastwood flat/matte rust encapsulator finish I already bought. I don't trust those $6 spray cans of Krylon or Duplicolor regular gloss paint for adhering/lasting. I better just worry about getting the rust cleaned off and the encapsulator applied first!

2017年5月25日 · Wasn't very impressed with the Eastwood rust encapsulator paint. My plan is to remove the cladding/inner fender well and wire wheel as much of the rust off as I can. Then use some type of rust reformer or neutralizer prior to bondo along with body spot putty. Then primer, finish coat, and clear coat.
