A ceramic coating is essentially a super long lasting synthetic wax, nothing more - gloss, beading, shine, lubrication, "protection" (isn't any in reality) can be achieved in other ways, but it's biggest benefit is lack of deterioration between washes and maintenance top ups. Ideal case is a daily driver which is garaged (both at home and at work).

That plus ceramic coating is $1700-$2100 depending on the coating in most cases. Why are they charging another grand for a coating that's wiped on? I completely charging that for a very labor intensive, highly skilled process like a multi stage paint correction, but am scratching my head at the price of professional ceramic coatings.

Meguiars Ceramic Wax is not a spray detailer. It needs to be applied by applicator. You can use their ceramic detailer spray as a drying aid instead. It's OK but only last a few weeks or so. If you dont want to use a pro ceramic coating then try one of the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions spray on ceramic coatings.

2023年1月9日 · The presence of the chemical gives the wax/spray/liquid some of the advantages of ceramic coatings, like their extreme hydrophobic properties, chemical resistance, etc - but they don't go on anywhere near as thick as a proper ceramic coating.

For me, yes...definately worth it. I like clean cars but don't really like cleaning cars and the right coating can help considerably in that area. Not perfect, but helpful. While ceramic coatings are often marketed as ‘scratch resistant’, with spiffy phrases like “Diamond-Infused 10h Hardness” it’s largely an irrelevant.
