Washington’s the Evergreen state and this flag is the only one in America to have a primarily green canvas. And state seal isn’t complex like the others, it’s just a drawing of George Washington (which is who the state is named after) who anyone driving 200 feet away can see and tell from a flagpole.

2022年6月14日 · especially as Eastern Washington otherwise doesn't really fit into the color pallet. I dunno, I think some gold would really make this pop! It's just that the state is very politically divided and it would be nice to have a flag that shows the land of both sides (and I'm saying this as a left leaning Western Washingtonian).

2022年6月14日 · Based on a design by Preston Knapp, the flag is broadly an abstraction of the original flag adopted in 1923 containing the state seal. The new center icon is blue for the Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound, gold for the fertile soil and valleys of eastern Washington, and white for the snow-capped Cascade Mountains.
