The Display Port on the Surface Book is very close to the Dock connector, where you cannot use both at the same time. This renders the Surface Dock useless and you will have one of the following two options; 1) get rid of the the Dock and connect your monitor directly to your laptop or 2) Run two Display Port cables from the Dock to the monitor.
