Jan 22, 2021 · Really really hoping to see a surface book 4 with an up to date cpu and hopefully a 30th series of nvidia RTX. Praying that it'll be launch this year but I doubt it'll happen because of the two year gap. But there's a thin line of hope after seeing the launch of surface laptop 4 with a Ryzen processor.

Hi r/surface!. I'm wondering if getting a Surface Book 3 in 2023 is worth it. I know MS technically discontinued production, no SB4 was announced, and the product is no longer available on their official Store (at least not in my region), but I could get it from local tech stores.

Aug 3, 2021 · My original surface book is starting do some weird stuff (base is disconnecting and reconnecting randomly...very weird issues with display as well). It might be time I bought a new computer anyway. Does anyone know if there are plans to release a 4? I'd hate to buy a 3 for full price and then see a 4 on the market for a similar price.

The Surface Book should have occupied the same place in the Microsoft lineup that the MacBook Pro does in Apple's: being a more powerful, creator-focused laptop with discrete graphics. Many IT departments across the US have a policy to avoid all surface products for various issues (overheating, terrible firmwear, impossible to repair, battery bloat). At the enterprise level a primary concern is the longevity of the devices in question, Surface devices do not provide this at all. I've owned a couple Surface devices in the past.

Aug 11, 2021 · If I do find a good deal on the Surface Laptop Studio, I would consider switching. Definitely would like all the parts in the keyboard base rather than the 15W cpu throttling on the screen, as with the Surface Book line. Kinda crazy your SB3 went bust. How long did you have it for? What are you doing with it now that you upgraded to the SLS?

May 20, 2023 · Things like Windows Hello take literally 1/4 of the time on the Laptop, and the more modern chip rips through work better. The Books are heavy and physically think when folded. My 13" Book is heavier than my 15" Laptop, and although it doesn't feel this way in daily use because of the balance point it does weigh more in a bag etc

Oct 10, 2020 · Even more so if since they keep designs for 3-4 years, that means I could get say a 2021 Pro, in 2022 get the "book base", then in 2024 upgrade to a "new Pro" with faster CPU /more ram etc., then later in 2024 or 2025 get the "new base" with a GPU/battery upgrade.
