2022年6月21日 · Really depends on what you want out of the car, and how much $$$$ you're willing to spend. If you want period correct and about as simple as it gets to spray, go single stage. If you want it to really pop, base/clear is the way to go. Whatever you decide to do, don't buy paint based on price. You get what you pay for.

2008年3月11日 · What I didn't get was the mixing ratio. I've seen somewhere its 4:2:1 (4 parts paint, 2 parts reducer, and 1 part hardner) and elsewhere it 8:4:1. I only want to mix a small amount at once so I don't waste the paint ( acrylic enamels). Any advice on mix ratio and other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Doug.

2004年9月29日 · PPG Concept urethane. Its a single stage paint. PPG Omni urethane is good also. My next door neighbor body shop man uses concept 1 stage almost exclusively. Its kinda funny, the Omni is the "consumer" oriented paint and the Concept is the "professional shop".

2019年1月6日 · Using an automotive grade exterior topcoat in the engine bay will protect it far better than anything that comes out of a spray can, and will cost about the same. I painted the engine compartment of my '71 in 2003 with Martin Senour acrylic enamel black with a catalyst, and it looks 95% as good now, as it did then.

2015年11月27日 · My 79 F150 is single stage and I have to put on a good buffing polish about once a year. It sits outside parked in my yard. It has held up for around 8 years so far with no major problems. It was also a cheap acrylic enamel paint which is hard, brittle and has a tendency to chip easier than urethane would.
Anyone try Eastwood's single stage urethane paint?
2008年11月12日 · Eastwood is Kirker Paints with an eastwood label. I have no experience with them, but have heard mixed reviews. People that paint for a living won't use them, but do it yourselfers find it to be a good product. I'd suggest getting the stuff directly from Kirker since it will be cheaper, and you have a wider range of color selections.
