The problem I have had is the leaf springs, axles, hubs and the drum brakes rusting out. The drum brakes locked up in less than 2 seasons.

IF I was able to have a big center console welded aluminum boat that I could afford I would. I fish Tampa bay weekly with my duck boat , but I also have a 25 Cobia for offshore.

But a G3 is a Yamaha Boat Company's answer to the Triton Aluminum boats and all the other Jon-boat companies out there. They're just a welded jon-boat. I didn't do it -but the boat I bought was left in the salt spray and it now has pits on the port side of the T-top (Birdsall or Bluewater) . They are not noticeable by touch. It all feels smooth.
