I understand that you would never paint a car with regular house paint IRL but I think it would be cool for the purposes of the game to be paint vehicles different colors. This would also apply for painting over the rusted out look that some cars get along the undercarriage.

Volvos paint process used to be much better than it is today. I think that’s the case for any car manufacturer though. I believe the 850 used single stage paint, meaning the clear coat is mixed in with the base coat, not clear on top of the base. To do a factory-quality paint job : the body, the door edges, hinges, under hood and trunk, engine bay, etc would be prohibitive and would still reduce the value of your car. Given the matte paint is probably a big upcharge and in limited colors, just pick whatever color you want and put the $$$ towards a full xpel stealth PPF, and bam, easy to maintain matte paint.

The problem with that is the second component is an isocyanate-containing hardener. Isocyanate is very bad for you, see Bhopal disaster.
