The Cowboys focused on the trenches in their 2024 NFL Draft, drafting all linemen with their first three picks. However, ESPN has Dallas turning its focus to a key skill position of need, and turning to a local prep product in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While we're nearing the midway point of the 2024 college football season, I currently believe the 2025 iteration of that quarterback to be Garrett Nussmeier from LSU. This is a former highly touted four-star recruit who sat for essentially three seasons behind Max Johnson then Jayden Daniels -- while throwing for 294 yards on 15 completions in the SEC title game against eventual national-title winning Georgia in a relief appearance in 2022 -- and is now operating the Tigers offense like a passer who's gained a wealth of knowledge along the way in college.

Dallas starts off with back-to-back Ohio State Buckeyes stars, including standout wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. Cowboys Nation may be nervous of the idea of adding another Michigan defensive lineman, but any help off of the edge will help, as we have seen in recent weeks with the losses of Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.
