But his official team title of passing game coordinator won’t change because offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is sticking around and keeping his title, despite being demoted this week by interim coach Jeff Ulbrich who took over after Robert Saleh was fired.

Ulbrich announced Thursday he replaced Nathaniel Hackett with Todd Downing as the offensive play caller. Downing, the Jets’ passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, takes over as New York prepares for a showdown with the AFC East-rival Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

Nathaniel Hackett will remain the Jets' OC, but passing game coordinator Todd Downing will call the plays during the game.
