A passenger on the Delta flight from Minnesota that crash-landed at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport runway earlier this week has filed a lawsuit against the airline company, alleging that he was “drenched with jet fuel” during the ordeal.

The first lawsuits have been filed over the Feb. 17 incident in which a regional jet flipped over upon landing, and a Texas man is one of the passengers firing an early shot. Attorneys representing Marthinus Lourens,

The passenger from Texas “was violently tossed about and ended up upside down hanging from his seatbelt inside a burning plane with aviation fuel leaking onto him.”

Two passengers have filed federal lawsuits following the crash landing of Flight 4919, which flew from Minneapolis to Toronto.

The lawsuit claims the crash, which involved Flight 4819 skidding down the runway upside down after toppling over, was caused by the flight crew’s “gross negligence and recklessness.”
