Former U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland was honored Wednesday with the PGA Tour Courage Award as he comes back from brain surgery to remove a lesion that was causing him to have unfounded thoughts that he was dying.

Because doctors were not able to remove the entire tumor, Gary Woodland still suffered through scary symptoms. “My brain couldn’t keep up,” he said.

After brain-tumor surgery, Gary Woodland and his wife Gabby set out to find solutions that will help him be Gary Woodland again.
