Here's what to know about how Costco, Walmart, Target, Starbucks, McDonald's and other big name companies are operating on Juneteenth this year.

However, it’s not always clear if Costco will be open during the upcoming holiday, Juneteenth. The federal holiday falls on Thursday, June 19, while the New Jersey state holiday falls on Friday, June 20 this year so either day could cause some uncertainty for shoppers.

Most retail and grocery locations like Target, H-E-B, Walmart, Kroger and Costco will be open. Most restaurants, from fast to fast-casual to sit-down, will be open on Thursday. Convenience stores like Walgreens and CVS will be open on Thursday, but most of their pharmacies will be closed or have reduced hours.

An investigation is underway after a man was found shot at a Costco gas station. Police say the victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.
