Skye, Scotland, is known for its rugged landscape and medieval castles. It's also far enough north in latitude to be graced with the aurora borealis frequently in the winter months.

Sky Guy, a rocketeer character, has been the Sky's mascot since the team's inception in 2006—nearly 20 years. He will appear with Skye the Lioness on Wednesday night.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Sky unveiled its new mascot Monday named “Skye the Lioness.” Skye will debut Wednesday at home against the Washington Mystics. Skye replaces the longtime mascot Sky Guy.
