A vector file is an image that can be made infinitely large without losing quality, and usually comes as an .AI, .EPS, .PDF, or .SVG file.

Before you start, be sure to look at the file’s name to make sure it’s a vector file. The point is to learn how to use free vector clipart, icons, illustrations and so on to create what you want.

In addition to creating vector artwork, Illustrator can open most files that contain vectors even if they were created in a different vector program, such as CorelDraw and Adobe Freehand.
