A 4.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the Northeast Friday morning, shaking buildings from Philadelphia to New Jersey to New York City to Connecticut to Westchester, New York.

In late January, a 2.4 magnitude earthquake jolted the northern New Jersey region near New York City. That quake was centered about 1 mile east-southeast of Paramus in Bergen County.
