The ASPCA says even if your animal isn't anxious, there are other safety concerns. Some pets will eat anything, regardless of how it tastes — including fireworks. Keep any fireworks securely locked away until you’re ready to light them, then be sure to keep pets out of the area as you set off your fireworks.

If your dog can tolerate it, consider purchasing dog earmuffs, headphones, or hoods to block the noise of fireworks. Keep in mind that dogs who are already scared or feel trapped due to the fireworks may be less inclined to wear anything covering their ears or head.
