Right before halftime of the Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills game on Thursday night, there was an odd play in which Josh Allen appeared to fumble while trying to take a knee in a botched quarterback-center exchange.
That was followed by Allen taking a sack, and then Matt Prater shanked a 39-yard field goal and the game turned on a dime with that sequence. Miami proceeded to drive 71 yards to the tying touchdown, converting five third downs along the way, and suddenly it was 14-14 and that set up a taut second half.
The Dolphins force the Bills into third-and-8. The pocket collapses around Josh Allen and he attempts to scramble free but Bradley Chubb swings him down for the sack. Matt Prater trots on for a 39-yard field goal but he completely shanks it, booting a wobbly kick wide of even the net behind the uprights. That was not even close.
