King Charles III and Queen Camilla continued their royal tour with a trip to Samoa. The couple arrived in the island country on Thursday, October 24, and were welcomed at the National University of Samoa.

King Charles has taken part in a traditional ritual in Samoa, drinking the ceremonial beverage kava, made from the root of a plant. He was also declared a “high chief” of the archipelago during his trip to the country.

The King, who is head of the Commonwealth, is due to formally open the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
