Unofficial results from Tuesday night show incumbent Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin and Ald. John Laesch leading to advance through the primary election to be on the April 1 ballot as mayoral

Incumbent Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin and challenger John Laesch will face off in the April election. Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who stepped down from office amid a sexual harassment scandal in 2021, is preparing to announce a run for New York City mayor.

Running against the onetime gubernatorial candidate are John Laesch, Ted Mesiacos, Judd Lofchie and Karina Garcia. The top two vote-getters in the Feb. 25 primary will face off in the April 1 general election.
