A major winter storm slammed the southern United States Tuesday, blanketing parts of the Gulf Coast with record-breaking snowfall in a region largely unaccustomed to extreme winter weather.
A cold and raw wind-driven rain will impact most of the region, with Marion, Alachua, and northern Flagler counties seeing icy conditions overnight into Wednesday morning.
The Panhandle of Florida saw record-breaking snowfall on Tuesday and now North Florida and Central Florida are preparing for some of that frozen precipitation.
