传说，明代弘治年间，文登宋村镇一位李姓农妇郭氏，因喝河水怀孕三年，生下一黑龙。父亲误以为是妖怪，挥镰砍断龙尾，黑龙痛逃，得名“秃尾巴老李”。后来他学道有成，被皇帝封为掌管江河湖海的“总龙王”，专管治水。
