The European Union has responded with retaliatory tariffs of its own, with a special focus on products from red states.

President Donald Trump imposed a sweeping 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports into the United States on Wednesday, as all eyes turn to Russia’s response after Ukraine accepted a 30-day ceasefire deal proposed by the U.

Trump slapped similar tariffs on EU steel and aluminum during his first term in office, which enraged European and other allies. The EU also imposed countermeasures in retaliation at the time, raising tariffs on U.S.-made motorcycles, bourbon, peanut butter and jeans, among other items.
