There’s no new episode of “Saturday Night Live” on tonight, Saturday, Sept. 13. Season 51 of “SNL” premieres on Saturday, Oct. 4. The host and musical guest for the premiere have not been announced yet, although some fans have speculated that Taylor Swift might appear on the season premiere.
The SNL stars not returning for Season 51 include Heidi Gardner (after eight seasons), Michal Longfellow (after three seasons), Devon Walker (after three seasons), Emil Wakim (after one season), and John Higgins, who was part of the Please Don’t Destroy troupe that joined the late-night show in 2021.
“I have to honor that,” said the 34-year-old, who will compete for an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy on Sunday. “That man has changed my life, and I owe a lot of my life to that show. And I love working there, the people are the best. I really love each of them so much.”

SNL Season 51 kicks off Oct. 4 with Bad Bunny, followed by Amy Poehler on Oct. 11 and Sabrina Carpenter on Oct. 18.
