The Prince of Wales and the Princess of Wales had a rare public display of affection during the state banquet with President Trump on Wednesday, Sept. 17

Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales were a sight to behold at the state banquet held at Windsor Castle and hosted by King Charles III on behalf of the United States. William and the former Kate Middleton stepped out at Windsor Castle for the second night of the state visit with President Donald Trump on Sept. 17.

During initial greetings with Prince William, King Charles and their wives, many observers noticed Donald and Melania did not curtsy or bow, instead opting to just shake hands. According to the royal family’s website, however, the Trumps didn’t break any rules.

However, Charles and Kate have always shared a close bond. The King referred to Kate as his “beloved daughter-in-law” while speaking at a state banquet in Kenya in October 2023, with the pair’s relationship growing ever stronger after they were both diagnosed with cancer last year.
