The /e/OS Foundation has been offering a de-Googled version of Android since 2018, with an emphasis on privacy and security. Now developers have introduced the biggest update in years.

It’s a Unix-like real-time, microkernel-based operating system that’s most widely used these days in automotive systems – more than 200 million cars run QNX-based software.

Google released Android 12 Tuesday during its Pixel launch event. The new operating system includes several new features and changes, as well as new privacy tools.
