At Skaneateles Lake in New York, Rachael DeWitt made her lifelong dream a reality after finishing a nine hour marathon swim of the lake to help the preservation of America’s lakes and oceans.

A woman was attacked by an alligator while swimming in waist-deep water with her boyfriend and dog in Florida, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
