Like an undercover spy, the black-and-white checkerboard pattern goes by many work names. Among police the world over, it’s known as Sillitoe tartan.

We’ve seen blackouts, whiteouts, and all manner of color-outs in the stands for various sports, but Tennessee’s “checkerboard-out” just might take the cake.
