Google is reportedly working on designing a custom chipset to power future Pixel devices, as well as Chromebooks. The company is said to be working with Samsung, who will build the chips.

The Pixel 10 series devices will be powered by Google’s in-house designed Tensor G5. However, Google has partnered with TSMC to produce these chipsets on TSMC’s 3n fabrication process.

Whether these efforts result in a new custom chipset by Google, or we just see some new specialized hardware for machine learning, either way, things should be interesting.
