What one NFL analyst said about Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa amid his rough 0-3 start to the 2025 NFL season.
This isn't a second guess. Before the Dolphins gave him a four-year, $212 million contract in July 2024, we said there was no need to rush into the decision; Miami would have had Tagovailoa under team control through 2026 – on a fifth-year option in 2024 and holding the ability to use the franchise tag on him in 2025 and 2026.
The Miami Dolphins are in dangerous territory. Not just because they’re 0-3, but because they’re in a position they never expected to be in after putting together a team that should be contending in the AFC. The biggest problem is they have a quarterback that simply can’t win them games.
Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins are 0-3 following their loss to the Buffalo Bills. Colin Cowherd asks where the Dolphins should go from here.
"Ten out of ten times, if we're looking at that same thing, I think I'd still try to work that timing of hitting that spot. I think the linebacker made a great play on that," Tagovailoa said.
Tua Tagovailoa and his wife Annah Tagovailoa have kept their personal life out of the spotlight, starting with their secret wedding. The Miami Dolphins quarterback's July 2022 wedding flew under the radar until the news leaked weeks later when Andy Slater made the announcement in a post on X on Aug. 2, 2022.
Through two games, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has also been underwhelming, and as the Dolphins take the field against the Bills, Tagovailoa does so as, according to several metrics, one of the worst quarterbacks through two games this season.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is 1-8 against the Bills, and part of that is because it's tough to out-score Josh Allen. Tagovailoa gave his rival quarterback props when speaking to reporters on Tuesday, saying that he can't do half of what Allen does regarding his athleticism and arm power.
