The WRX STI S210 sports the same 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four as the standard WRX but with enhancements like a revised intake, an upgraded exhaust system, and a tweaked ECU.

Subaru has revealed an STI variant of the current WRX, called the S210 Prototype. It will only be sold in Japan, uses an automatic transmission, and makes less power than the last WRX STI.

This WRX STI S210 will be capped at 500 examples globally. More importantly, Subaru hasn’t mentioned what regions will be getting this machine, or how many will be divided per region.

This new S210 STI is going to be limited to just 500 units, all of which will be for the Japanese market only. And lastly—and this is the big one—it only comes with a CVT.
