Missourians will decide whether to legalize sports gambling in Missouri through Amendment 2, a referendum on this year's general election ballot. Supporters say it’ll help fund education in the state, but critics say the amendment’s writing leaves more questions than it answers.

Amendment 2 doesn’t address video lottery machines. The sports betting amendment includes these regulations: Background checks for people/companies applying for a sports betting license. People convicted of felonies or gambling offenses can’t run the operations.

Sports teams, teachers and unions have weighed in on the proposal and whether it will fund schools and an anti-gambling addiction program.
