More than 2,100 searchers from a dozen Texas Counties, other states and Mexico are continuing recovery efforts to find more victims of the deadly flash flooding in central Texas.

On July 6, President Donald Trump signed a major disaster declaration for Kerr County, which provides access to federal funding to aid in recovery efforts.

There are questions over why oversight was eased at Mystic Camp as it expanded in a hazardous floodplain, the AP reported.

Camp Mystic, which largely sits in a flood-prone area, lost 27 campers and counselors in the disaster.

“It’s hard not to feel like you are surrounded by a higher power when you’re down there, because it’s just so beautiful,” my friend Olivia Marrus told me.
