President Donald Trump announced the imposition of a 25% tariff on goods imported from Canada and Mexico, effective Tuesday. These tariffs target products such as peanut butter, oranges, and wine, marking a significant escalation in trade tensions between the neighboring countries.

Despite Trump’s claim that the U.S doesn’t need Canada, nearly a quarter of the oil America consumes per day comes from Canada. About 60% of U.S. crude oil imports are from Canada, and 85% of U.S. electricity imports as well.
