The robot revolution has long sounded like a far-off sci-fi notion, but it’s a reality at the e-commerce giant.

Technology is catching up to the U.S. workforce very quickly and one company is leading the way with robotics — which isn't exactly good news on the jobs front. The Wall Street Journal did a deep dive into Amazon's quest to automate tasks that have been done by its employees for decades.

Amazon will soon have as many robots as humans plugging away at its warehouses, the Wall Street Journal reports. And at this rate, it won't be long until the flesh and blood employees are downright outnumbered.
