If the Sound, video and game controllers category is missing from your Device Manager or a controller device not showing up in Windows, use these fixes.

To do so, use the following steps: Open the Device Manager. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section. Now, right-click on Realtek (R) Audio. Click on Uninstall device.

Double-click "Sound, Video and Game Controllers." Right-click the sound driver and click "Enable" to restart the device. Restart the computer, if prompted, to turn the sound card back on.

Enter "device" into the search box. Click "Device Manager." Double-click "Sound, Video and Game Controllers." Double-click the audio device to see the name of the sound card and its manufacturer.
