The kid-friendly online gaming platform Roblox said it is planning to introduce a "safe" voice chat option for players in the future.

A major feature is coming to Roblox on consoles in 2025, and it promises to change the overall gameplay experience for PlayStation and Xbox players.

Roblox is introducing a new voice chat feature called “Spatial Voice,” starting with an invitation-only beta for select developers, the gaming platform announced on Thursday.

Roblox announced that more than 2.5 billion chat messages were sent in 2021 and one in five daily active users updated their avatars on any given day.

With Roblox continuing the big voice chat rollout it announced last month, the company is quickly pushing its previously text chat-centered experience toward more natural, immersive interactions.
