A snake catcher has found an incredible 4.3 metre long single sleeve of shed python skin from the roof of a Queensland house and later managed to catch the former owner curled up in a wall cavity.

The skin of a monster carpet python found at a Buderim home has left seasoned snake catchers scratching their heads.

Snake expert David Walton said the skin appeared to belong to a reticulated python from South-East Asia. He said it was a mystery as to how the snake came to end up in Australia.
