In the science textbook, the chapters on Periodic Classification of Elements, Sources of Energy, and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources have been removed.

According to the list of rationalised content released by the council in June last year, a chapter titled ‘Periodic Classification of Elements’ was dropped from the science textbook of Class 10.

In fact, classification of elements in the periodic table is part of the curricular goal at the secondary stage," a subject expert in NCERT said.

Among the chapters and pages that were omitted from Class 10 science textbooks include Periodic Classification of Element, Democracy, political parties (full page) and Challenges to Democracy.
