The AI leader’s infusion comes after the Trump administration engineered a deal to assume a 10 percent stake in the struggling chipmaker’s operations.

Nvidia and Intel will team up to work on custom data centers that form the backbone of artificial intelligence infrastructure as well as personal computer products, Nvidia said in a press release.

The companies said Nvidia is buying $5 billion of Intel’s common stock at $23.28 a share and would jointly develop data-center and personal-computing products.
