Minecraft Java Edition is one of the more popular versions of the game, built on its original form. The game, and it's trial variant, are available for download from the official Minecraft website.

Minecraft's 1.21 update, now known by its official name Tricky Trials, is rapidly approaching its release date of June 13, 2024.

Mojang Studios have announced the Minecraft PC Bundle, a package deal that will give Xbox Game Pass for PC users access to both the Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft.

Importantly, Minecraft Java mods tend to be free, while Bedrock add-ons can be either free or paid downloads in the Minecraft Marketplace.

Microsoft plans to sell Minecraft Education Edition as a subscription service to schools, starting in September, for between $1 and $5 per user per month. A free trial version is available now.

If you missed your chance the first time around, Mojang has allowed more players to redeem their free copy of Minecraft on Windows 10 if they already own the Java Edition.

Microsoft has announced that it is offering a free trial of Minecraft Education Edition for teachers to test out over the summer.
