An appeals court Monday ruled in favor of hiQ Labs, a company that automatically gathers data from LinkedIn profiles, despite LinkedIn’s claims that this practice endangers user privacy.

LinkedIn must allow a company that specialises in working out when people are planning to leave their jobs, to continue to scrape data from public user profiles on the site.
