Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced on Tuesday that his office has opened investigations into 33 possible noncitizens who allegedly committed voter fraud in the 2024 election.
The investigation was handed to the department's Public Integrity Section, which prosecutes allegations of official misconduct. Paxton was accused of bribery and abusing his office in 2020.
Investigators said a few months later, in 2020, Paxton told one of his deputies he didn't want his office to help the FBI nor the Texas Department of Public Safety on the investigation involving Paul.
