Microsoft moved the Start button in Windows 11, but you can move it back with a few clicks.
With Windows Blue, a k a Windows 8.1, Microsoft is re-introducing a Start Button and adding a boot-straight-to-desktop option. Here's how these may work.
The Windows Start button should be on the left side of the taskbar. We'll show you where to find the setting to move it back.
Just turn it off. Now click the Start button, and you should see the Start menu. Your switch to the Start menu or Start screen as the default will stay permanent unless you change it back.
