Sybase has released a free production database for Linux. The database maker announced on Wednesday the availability of a version of its Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) database for Linux.

The company is releasing its new ASE Express Edition for free in hopes of attracting customers who will later upgrade to Sybase's ASE Small Business Edition.
