Press "Ctrl-V" on your keyboard to paste all of the Word document's content into your Google Doc. It will be saved automatically. The document is now available in your Google Docs.

To convert Word documents to Google Docs, go to Google Drive and log in. Select New > File upload. Select the Word document to upload it to your Google account.

As you edit, Google Docs will continue to automatically save the file in the MS Word format (such as .docx). You don’t have to do anything extra to convert the file to or from the Microsoft format.
